The current rector with a mandate for 2012-2016, Prof. PhD. Coralia Cotoraci, has been unanimously elected by the University Senate; she received an award for the contribution she has made to the university for 18 years of her activity. The president of the University and its founder is Professor PhD. Aurel Ardelean.

The Faculty of Law was founded in the first year of “Vasile Goldis” Western University in 1990-1991; this higher education institution is the first school of private law in Romania, whose final accreditation was granted by the law of the Romanian Parliament in March 2002. Faculty of Philology, Philosophy, Political and Administrative Sciences
The Faculty of Philology, Philosophy, Political and Administrative Sciences is located in the centre of Arad in recently refurbished facilities. This higher education institution is based on the historical university tradition of Romania and on the principles of European integration in the form of the 1999 Bologna process.
The faculty offers two specializations as indicated in the diploma supplement based on the university credit system (3-year program, 180 credits). Minimum tuition fees, excellent teaching staff working in cooperation with prestigious universities from within the country and from abroad, attractive Master’s programs, timely and effective services, university research centres, Memorial Museum, laboratories, library with over 100,000 volumes – all these factors determine the quality, reliability and professionalism of the Faculty of Philology, Philosophy, Political and Administrative Sciences of “Vasile Goldis” Western University of Arad. The Faculty of Natural Sciences, Engineering and Informatics was founded at “Vasile Goldis” Western University of Arad in 2011. The new structure includes the following departments: Biology, Ecology and Geography, Forestry, and Informatics. The Faculty of Natural Sciences, Engineering and Informatics was born out of the idea to embrace thematic fields of university education that complement the needs and demands of the young generation. The mission of the faculty is to train highly qualified human resources in the selected fields of specialization.
